Corey Flowers
Chief People Officer & Co-Founder
Corey is one of the original founders of Onyx Point and continues to serve as Chief People Officer. His job is to develop a well-defined company culture and manage all people-centric activities for Onyx Point employees. This ranges from hiring to training and professional development, performance management and career growth, and equally important, ensure employees have the opportunity unwind and have a good time.
Corey has over 25 years of experience in a variety of technical fields within a variety of circumstances. After serving in the Army building networks for deployed units, Corey traveled the globe performing a variety of jobs ranging from electrician, to antenna repairman, to computer system installations. While dangling from a 160 foot tall antenna on the top of a mountain Corey decided he needed a change of scenery and a change of pace. He moved to England and became an expert on clustering within Unix and Linux. Corey then decided to move back to the United States where he then focused on working with super computers, large scale cluster architectures, system security, and dataflow architecture and design within the Intelligence Communities. He has also specialized in open source projects that have included Apache NiFi and SIMP.
